XYLISTIN FORTE PLUS 3 MIU contains Colistin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat certain forms of serious bacterial infections when other antibiotics are not suitable. It is clinically effective in treating various infections caused due to the certain gram-negative bacteria such as Aerobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.A bacterial infection can be defined as a proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria in the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue, or bones.Colistin is a polypeptide antibiotic.
